Chandra Pike has been a part of Rocky Church and the Estes Park Community since 2021. She has grown up with a passion for working with kids, working as a YMCA camp leader through high school and serving in kids ministry in college. Her love for helping kids encouraged her to get her Elementary Education degree with a Masters in ESL education. She has 14 years of elementary education experience, 12 of those years were teaching overseas with her husband Wes and serving in kids ministry in their local church. Chandra loves living in the mountains, trail running, hiking and biking with her two boys, Lucas and Logan.

Jess Mahon

Jess is the founding pastor of Rocky, having planted the church in 1994. He has been blessed to experience the Gospel’s impact in Estes Park through the lives of those who call Rocky their home. He and his bride, Deb, have been married since 1977. Together, they have two married children who have given them four wonderful granddaughters. God’s goodness and faithfulness have been bountifully given to Jess, and for this, he is a thankful man.

Matt Larkin

Matt Larkin lived the first 23 years of his life in Estes Park. After graduating from EPHS in 1999, he went on to attend Torchbearers in England as well as Austria. He graduated from Colorado Christian University in 2005 with a Bachelors degree in Organizational Management and Christian Leadership. Matt met his wife, Jessica, while she was attending Ravencrest in 2003. They have four amazing girls who keep them very busy. Matt’s heart for and involvement in worship ministry started when he was 16 years old. Since then, he has continued to be involved with worship ministry in a variety of churches and settings. Outside of worship ministry, Matt has spent the past 18 years working full time in the oil and gas industry. Matt loves the outdoors, snowboarding, and camping with his family.

Ron Hardy

Associate pastor of Discipleship / Elder

Married to Carolyn Hardy July 14, 1968. He has two daughters, two son-in-laws and six grandchildren and one great granddaughter. Ron and Carolyn spent thirty-one years discipling high school students in the metropolitan area of New Jersey/New York city to reach their peers with the gospel of Jesus Christ, with HiBA (high school born-againers).  They spent twenty-four years in Japan with HiBA as missionaries among high school students. They returned to the states and spent sixteen years working out of the US Office of SEND International as a mobilizer in discipling university students into global missions.

Ron and Carolyn returned to Japan in 2017 to start a “D” (discipleship) House discipling interns to reach the youth of the world, through various ministries in Japan.  Carolyn entered into the presence of her Lord Jesus Christ December 13th, 2022. Reggie Shook

Chairman

Reggie was born in Sidney, Nebraska and grew up in the area made up of NE Colorado, SE Wyoming, and panhandle of Nebraska. He was raised in a Christian home and realized he needed Christ as his Savior at an early age. He graduated from Akron High School in 1975 and from the Colorado School of Mines with a degree in Geophysical Engineering in 1979. That same year, he started his career with Union Oil Company of California in Oklahoma City.

The Lord has blessed him with a wonderful godly wife, Cindy, and three beautiful believing daughters; Anna, Lauren, and Grace. His various work assignments took them to many locations in the “oil patch” including Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana, Indonesia, and Canada. In all those places, the Lord led them to rich Christian communities for fellowship and worship.

Following a 35-year career with Unocal/Chevron in the oil and gas industry, they built a home and moved to Estes Park in the fall of 2014. They love living on the door step of Rocky Mountain National Park. He and Cindy enjoy volunteering at Wind River Ranch and in addition Reggie continues to help his dad with the cattle on his ranch near Akron, Colorado. They officially joined the Rocky family in the summer of 2016 and he has served as an elder for the past six years.

Tom Cousineau

Secretary

Tom has been a believer since age 11. After serving in the Army, he attended Grand Rapids Baptist College where he majored in Christian Education. Tom had served as Chairman of the Deacon Board at Temple Hill Baptist Church in Cadillac, Michigan and this is Tom’s second term serving as an Elder at Rocky Church. Tom and his Wife have been married 54 years and have three adult children and 10 grandchildren.
Tom and Connie are currently retired after serving over 40 years in Christian Camping.

Dan Marshall

Vice-Chairman

Daniel “Dan” and his wife, Jana, started attending Rocky in 2005 with their two children, Luke and Michaela, after moving to Pinewood Springs from Greeley, CO. Dan and Jana first served as hosts to a Rocky Life Group while they lived in Pinewood Springs from 2008 to 2012. Dan served Rocky as the Director of Men’s Ministry from 2011 to 2021. He served as a voting member on the Nomination Committee in 2017. He chaired the Estes Park Crossroads Endowment Foundation as President from 2017 to 2021. Dan has now served Rocky as an Elder since 2021.

Outside of Rocky, Dan served 20 years in the Air Force and retired as a Major in 2008. After a life-changing and paralyzing aircraft accident in 2002, Dan was hired as a Satellite Engineer for Lockheed Martin and after 19 years, he is now serving as a Software Engineer Manager in Boulder, CO.

Dan believes his 45+ years of his faith journey has built a solid foundation of trust, wisdom from the Holy Spirit within him, and a discerning spirit to know, listen and understand the needs of the Christ-following members of the church.

Steve Gilbert

Elder

Salvation Story

In 1971 at a school dance, Steve was approached by several young “hippies”. They asked, “Do you know Jesus?“. These hippies consisted of a couple of college-aged boys and a few young ladies; they were Jesus freaks (JF). Steve had been raised a Catholic and always believed in Jesus, but due to his Catholic upbringing, he never knew that a personal relationship with Him was possible. The JFs and Steve spoke for a while, then they invited Steve to go to their church to meet some others. Not long after, Steve was introduced to his personal Savior, Jesus.

Family life
Erin and Nicole were three years old when Steve and Alison met (ask Alison for the details); they married four years later. When their girls left for college, Steve and Alison moved to Estes Park; this was in 2008. About a year and a half later, they started attending Rocky Mountain Church. Steve began serving at Riverplace not long after they joined the church in December of 2009. He has served on the worship team playing bass, guitar, and doing sound; he also helped out doing live streaming during the Covid-19 outbreak. He has been on the elder team for 11 years.

Steve’s spiritual gifting is in shepherding, wisdom, and faith.

George Havran

Elder

George gave his life to the Lord in 1991. His wife, Deb, and he have been married for 30 ½ years. They have lived in the Estes Valley since 2007, in Glen Haven for 8 1/2 years and in Estes Park for the past 7. They have been members of Rocky since March of 2008 and are blessed with two sons and 4 grandsons.

George has served on the elder team since 2017. He and Deb also currently serve on the greeting team. Previously at Rocky, George has been a life group leader and was the men’s ministry leader for several years. His spiritual gifts are Shepherding, Exhortation & Hospitality. The Lord has given him a heart for people who are hurting. Praying for others’ needs and providing practical assistance are some of the ways he serves others.

Interests/Hobbies – time with the Lord, time with his wife Deb, family, friends, hiking, camping, fishing, bike riding, and fixing things. He is employed at Good Samaritan Village in Estes Park, where he believes the Lord has directed him to do maintenance and share the Lord and his word with the residents and staff.

George’s passion for the Lord, his word, and his people is stronger than ever before. He is excited to see how the Lord will guide him to serve him in the future!
